Is the Apple AirTag included?

No. The holder is designed for an Apple AirTag, sold separately by Apple and most electronics retailers. Order the AirTag first if you do not already have one.

How does the QR code work?

Scan the QR code on the front of the holder with any phone camera, iPhone or Android, no app required. It opens a web page with the pet profile you have set up: name, photo, your contact info, medical notes, and emergency contacts. Anyone who finds your dog or cat can reach you in seconds.

Do I need a subscription for the QR profile?

No. The PawFurEver pet profile is free, and you can edit it anytime. No monthly fee, no annual renewal.

Is it the same profile system as your engraved tags?

Yes. If you already have a PawFurEver engraved tag with a QR profile, this holder uses the same system. You can link it to the same pet profile or set up a new one.

Is it waterproof?

Water and dust resistant, not fully waterproof. It handles rain, splashes, and daily wet walks well. For pets who swim regularly, our silicone AirTag Collar Holder is fully sealed and made for lake swimming.

Will it fit my collar width?

Fits standard dog and cat collars, and slides over most collar buckles. It works on our own biothane collars (5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, 1 inch) and on most fabric collars up to about 1.5 inches wide.

Will it work on a small dog or a cat?

The holder is a bit larger than a flat photo tag, so it suits medium and larger pets best. On very small dogs or slim-necked breeds, position it away from the underside of the neck and check occasionally for irritation. For cats, pair it with a breakaway collar and confirm the breakaway still releases with the holder attached.

Does the QR code wear off?

The QR code is printed on the hard front face of the holder and holds up under normal wear. Rough scraping against concrete or persistent chewing can damage the print, so check the code occasionally to confirm it still scans clearly.

What happens if someone with an Android scans it?

The pet profile opens as a normal web page in the phone's browser, same as on an iPhone. No app needed on either platform. Your contact details show up correctly for both.

How do I install it?

Slide the holder onto the collar before you buckle it, then position it at the back of the neck where the AirTag lies flat. Drop the AirTag in from the back. The opening does not stretch a lot, so it goes on easier before the collar is fastened than after. Read the setup card first.
