Privacy policy
Effective date: October 28, 2026 · Last updated: October 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ausindus LLC, doing business as PawFurEver ("PawFurEver," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit pawfurever.com, buy from us, use the PawFurEver app, or scan a PawFurEver QR tag.
It is part of our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Order and account information: name, email address, phone number, shipping address, billing address, and account login credentials.
- Personalization content: the text, names, phone numbers, dates, and images you submit to be engraved or printed on a product, including photos of pets and, where you choose to include them, people.
- Pet profile information: pet name, photo, breed, description, and any medical, dietary, or handling notes you choose to add to a QR tag profile, along with the contact details you want displayed to someone who finds your pet.
- Communications: messages you send us by email, chat, or review, including any information you include in them.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our site or use our app, we and our service providers collect:
- device and browser type, operating system, and screen settings;
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and search terms used to reach us;
- session activity, including mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and session recordings captured by Microsoft Clarity; and
- cookies, pixels, and similar technologies described in Section 5.
Session recording captures how you move through our pages so we can find and fix usability problems. We configure our analytics tools to mask form fields and text entry where the tool supports it, but please avoid typing sensitive information into fields where it is not requested.
Information from other sources
We receive information from Shopify, our payment processors, shipping carriers, marketplaces such as Amazon and Etsy where you may have ordered, and advertising and analytics platforms.
Payment information
We do not collect or store full payment card numbers. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors, who handle your card details directly under their own security standards and privacy policies. We receive limited details such as the payment method type, the last four digits, and whether the transaction succeeded.
2. QR tags and scan information
This section applies to PawFurEver QR tags and any related pet profile page.
If you are a pet parent using a QR tag: the contact information and pet details you choose to display on your pet profile are visible to anyone who scans that tag. Please include only what you are comfortable showing to a stranger who finds your pet. You control what is displayed and can update or hide it at any time in your account.
If you scanned a tag you found: when you scan a PawFurEver QR tag, we collect the date and time of the scan, your device and browser information, your IP address, and, if you choose to share it, the approximate location of your device. We use this to notify the pet's owner that their tag was scanned and to help them reach the person who found their pet. Location is taken from your device, not from the pet, and is only collected if you allow it.
We share scan information with the pet's registered owner so they can respond. We do not use scan information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
3. The PawFurEver app
This section explains the extra information the PawFurEver mobile app handles. The rest of this policy also applies to the app.
Account and sign-in. You can create an account with your email and a password, or sign in with Google or Apple. If you use Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address. If Apple's "Hide My Email" is on, we ask you for an email address we can reach you at.
Pet profiles and health records. You can store your pet's profile and health records in the app. These include vaccinations, medicines and preventatives, vet visits, symptoms, weight, food, reminders, and photos or PDFs you attach. You can create a health summary PDF and choose who to share it with.
Walks and location. When you start a walk, the app uses your phone's precise location to draw the route and measure distance. It does this only while the walk is being tracked, with a "Walk in progress" notification showing. We save each walk's route, distance, time, pee and poo breaks, walk photos, notes, and who walked. We do not use walk location for advertising.
Lost Mode. If your pet is missing, you can turn on Lost Mode. Your pet's profile then shows that it is lost, and people who scan its tag see how to reach you. A person who finds your pet and scans its tag can choose to share their phone's location with you through their web browser, so you can find them. Finders do not need the PawFurEver app. Their browser asks for permission first, and they can stop sharing at any time.
Calls and texts between finders and owners. When a finder contacts you from a scan page, we connect you through a masked phone number provided by Twilio. Neither side sees the other's real number. We keep a log of each call or text, including the time, duration, and the numbers involved, to run the service and prevent abuse. We do not record calls or store the content of text messages.
Petco Love Lost. When you turn on Lost Mode, you can choose to post your pet to Petco Love Lost, a free lost-and-found pet database. If you do, we share your pet's name, photo, breed, description and last-seen location, plus your phone number and email so people can contact you. Petco Love Lost handles that information under its own privacy policy. If you delete your account, we remove the listing from Petco Love Lost automatically.
Family sharing. You can add up to 2 secondary contacts to a pet's profile, such as a second parent. A finder can call these contacts. You can also invite up to 3 more people to use the app with you. People you invite can see and change the pet's profile, health records, walks and photos. When you add someone, you confirm they have agreed to share their details with us. These details are their name, phone number and email. The same applies to your vet's clinic name, phone number and address.
Photos and files. Pet photos, walk photos and record attachments you upload are stored in cloud storage with Amazon Web Services.
Notifications. The app uses a device ID from Google Firebase to send reminders, tag-scan alerts, Lost Mode alerts and walk updates. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your phone settings.
Subscriptions. If you buy PawFurEver Plus through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, the store handles payment. We receive your subscription status and renewal date, not your card details.
App permissions. The app asks for these permissions, and only when you use the feature that needs them. You can change them at any time in your phone settings.
- Location: walks
- Camera: scanning tags and taking photos
- Photos: choosing pet photos
- Notifications: reminders and alerts
Security. App data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- process, produce, and ship your order, and handle returns and refunds;
- create and maintain your account, and verify it using one-time passcodes sent by SMS or email;
- operate QR tag profiles, scan notifications, and related pet safety features;
- provide customer support and respond to your messages;
- send transactional messages about orders, shipments, and account activity;
- send marketing emails or texts where you have opted in;
- detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and chargebacks;
- understand how our site is used, fix problems, and improve our products and service;
- measure and target advertising, where permitted; and
- comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use the following categories:
- Essential cookies, set by Shopify, that keep your cart, session, and checkout working. The site does not function without these.
- Analytics and session replay, including Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics, which show us how visitors navigate our pages and where they run into trouble.
- Advertising and conversion tracking, including the Meta Pixel and Google advertising tags, which measure the performance of our ads and allow you to be shown PawFurEver ads on other platforms.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies will break checkout. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising through your Google Ads settings, your Meta ad preferences, and industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and similar browser-based opt-out signals as a request to stop targeted advertising for that browser.
In the app. The app uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use its screens, including screens viewed, taps and session recordings. Personal details such as health records, addresses and phone numbers are hidden from these recordings. App data is not used for advertising. The Google and Meta advertising tags described above are used on our website only, not in the app.
6. How we share information
We share personal information with:
- Service providers who work on our behalf, including our ecommerce platform (Shopify), payment processors, production and fulfillment partners, shipping carriers (USPS and UPS), email and SMS providers (SendGrid and Twilio), customer support tools, review platforms, and cloud hosting.
- App service providers, including Google Firebase (notifications), Mapbox (maps and address search), Amazon Web Services (photo and file storage), Google and Apple (sign-in), Twilio (masked calls and texts between finders and owners), and Microsoft Clarity (app analytics).
- Analytics and advertising partners, including Microsoft, Google, and Meta, as described in Section 5.
- The registered owner of a QR tag, when that tag is scanned, as described in Section 2.
- People you share with and Petco Love Lost. We share pet information with the family members and contacts you add to a pet, and with anyone you send a health summary to. If you choose to post a lost pet to Petco Love Lost, we share the details described in Section 3.
- Legal and safety recipients, when we are required to respond to a subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, investigate fraud, or protect the safety of a person or animal.
- A successor, if PawFurEver is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. We will notify you if your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some state privacy laws define "sale" or "sharing" broadly enough to include the use of advertising cookies and pixels described in Section 5. You can opt out of that use at any time by emailing contact@pawfurever.com or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser.
We do not sell, share, or use sensitive personal information for targeted advertising.
7. Email and SMS communications
Transactional messages. We send order confirmations, shipping updates, account notices, and one-time passcodes. These are necessary to provide the service and are not marketing.
Marketing messages. We send marketing emails and texts only where you have opted in. Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of purchase.
You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any marketing message. For text messages, reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about orders you have placed.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and request a copy;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information we hold about you;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- opt out of targeted advertising, sale or sharing of personal information, and profiling; and
- be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, email contact@pawfurever.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity using information already associated with your account or orders, and respond within the time required by applicable law, generally 45 days.
An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written proof of authorization.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the word "Appeal." We will respond to your appeal within 60 days. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General's office. Maryland residents may contact the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division.
Deleting your account or personal information may disable QR tag profiles, scan notifications, and other features that depend on that information.
Deleting your app account. You can delete your account in the app or by email. See our Delete Account page for the steps and what is deleted.
9. Retention
We keep information only as long as we need it:
- Order records: at least 7 years, for tax and legal reasons.
- Account, pet profiles, health records, walks and photos: while your account is active. You can delete individual items in the app at any time.
- In-app notifications: 180 days.
- Call and text logs between finders and owners: 90 days.
- After you delete your account: removed within 30 days, including from backups.
- Analytics and advertising data: according to each provider's settings, usually shorter than the above.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, and we rely on Shopify and our payment processors for payment security and PCI DSS compliance. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, contact us at contact@pawfurever.com.
11. Children's privacy
Our site, products, and app are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If you submit a photo that includes a child, you confirm you are that child's parent or guardian, or that you have their parent or guardian's permission.
12. Visitors outside the United States
PawFurEver operates in the United States, and information we collect is stored and processed there. Privacy laws in the United States may differ from those in your country. If you use our site or buy from us from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice on our site.
